What began as a generous donation from the SA Preserve Championships has grown into something truly meaningful: a weekly sandwich drive at Prestwich Street Primary School, led by the Alive Foundation.

Each Wednesday in August 2025, we’re showing up with love – crafting sandwiches using the 456 jars of homemade preserves donated by preserve-makers across South Africa. These small but powerful gestures are helping us nourish learners who need it most.

But the drive doesn’t stop at sandwiches. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like Jobeana van Vreden, we’ve been able to add fresh fruit to the mix – bringing joy, nutrition, and dignity to break time.

This project is about more than food. It’s about showing up, consistently, and reminding our youth that they are seen, supported, and worth every effort.
